Virat Kohli slammed a record-equalling sixth IPL century as Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated SunRisers Hyderabad by eight wickets to move one step closer to the IPL playoffs race. Kohli slammed 100 off just 63 balls, while captain Faf du Plessis hit 71 off 47 deliveries to complement him. Kohli and Faf put on 172 runs for the first wickets as RCB chase down 187 with four balls to spare. Earlier, Heinrich Klaasen slammed his maiden IPL century to power SRH to a total of 186/5. Klaasen slammed 104 off just 51 balls with the help of eight fours and six sixes. Michael Bracewell struck twice in the fourth over of the innings to dismiss both Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi.
